Castle rock

this is an awesomely large granite rock just sitting on the shore line north of Emita.  It is a pleasant short walk through low lying coastal grasses or great for the kids to parkour over boulders around the shore line.

A fantastic bay where you can fossick for the famous Killiecrankie diamonds (topaz)  it is location for the Killiecrankie sailing club and a great place for a bbq at the public facilities.

the patriarchs

This location is where you can get up close and personal with the wallabies and kangaroos of Flinders.  There is a great bbq facility and shelter where for a small donation can hand feed the wallabies.

north east river

North east river is an inland waterway that is linked to the ocean via a bar way.  There is plentiful sea life and is great for kids to search the rock pools or for chucking a line in for a spot of fishing.

trousers point

one of the more iconic places on flinders, seems to have a great resonance with any visitor that goes there.  Peaceful little beach with some great granite formations.  The water is cold due to a unique tidal movement, this is great for some cold therapy for those keen enough to venture in for a swim.   Also has some great bbq facilities.

furneaux museum

Located at Emita, this is a great museum, run by volunteers that has a wealth of history covering settlement through to ship wrecks that have littered the shores of the islands over the years.  Well worth a visit.

Mt strezlecki

A great bush walk on the highest peak of Flinders, on a nice day you can see for miles.  Covers all types of terrain from rocky out crops to low lying scrub.   A beautiful experience for all levels of bushwalkers.
